Review of the History which itself is full of prosperity
and path of lustrous transition |

The
pristine, auspicious moment of installation of
‘foundation stone’. Those were the days when there was hardly any zeal,
faith or love for education. The decision of
administrative body of closing the contemporary A.V.
School was almost final when a visionary, great
philanthropist
Late Shri Raosaheb Rupchand Lathi came
forward to help poor students. Respected Raosaheb
himself took hold of the school with the support and
co-operation of his companions Vyankatesh Koranne and
Seth Premji Magniram. He accepted the responsibility of
revitalizing and running the school. In a way it was
‘Early Dawn’ of education for the city. In 1916 he
renamed it as ‘New English School’. Soon he established
‘The East Khandesh Education Society’.
During the long period of 1916 to 1954 he efficiently
and successfully shouldered the responsibility with the
position of ‘The President’.
Besides this he also expended the branches of this ‘Tree
of Education’ with the establishment of ‘City School’,’
Teachers Training Institute’ and ‘New English School’ at
Asoda. During 1934 he purchased three bighas of land
where he made construction of impressive structure of
school building which was made well equipped. In 1936,
when the construction of ‘First storied’ building was
completed the school was shifted in new building. For
the important post of ‘Principal’ talented, competent
and dedicated personality Shri Manubhai Desai was
appointed along with the staff of dedicated learned and
inquisitive teachers. |

It was the motive and mission of Respected Raosaheb to
make the school unique and outstanding one. With this
motto the path was made prosperous, pure and as bright
as galaxy.
In memory of this great sage the school was renamed as
‘Raosaheb Rupchand Vidyalaya’ after his sad demise. |

1955
to 1983- Cherished the Thought of Progress
The
path with envisaged multifarious dreams, sacred dreams
of ‘Education for Society’ were envisaged and cherished
by the saintly, reverend personality
Late Shri Bhausaheb
Kashinath Lathi, for whom life itself was
‘Self-sacrifice’. Under his guidance and radiant
leadership the construction of the second floor was
done. Once again there was new direction for soaring
higher. The flight taken by ‘East Khandesh Education
Society’ was as gasping the zenith. One more seed of
education was sown which soon began to grow and flourish
as ‘Feeding school’. It was the year 1955. The school
lit and kindled the city with important education. After
the death of Bhausaheb the same school was renamed as
‘Bhausaheb Kashinath Lathi Vidyamandir’ with awareness
regarding preserving moral ethics and values as well as
Indian culture and civilization in 1970 ‘New English
Medium School’ was established. He cherished the thought
of progress, prosperity and merit and strived and
struggled for the same. |

1984
to 2002 Radiant and Glorious Period of Time After
the death of Bhausaheb Lathi in 1984,
Late Shri
Bacchubhau alias Purushottam Lathi led the East Khandesh
Education Society with his mother wit, efficient, noble,
caring presidency.
It was the same sacred path full of purity. For him the
mission of life was commitment, pledge of creating
awareness for education. He wanted to lit everyone’s
soul with the lamp of education: to fill the celestial
sphere of the city and radiance of knowledge. And of
course, the graph of the progress of East Khandesh
Education Society was constantly competing to reach the
beautiful, wide and challenging blue sky. |

THE
NEW HORIZON OF ASPIRATIONS….. POST 2002 TENURE
Current President: Shri. Arvindbhau Bankatlal Lathi.

The
present president
Shri Arvindbhau Bankatlal Lathi has
taken the responsibility of the society from 2002. He
can be described as ‘One Man Army’ who has the strong
shoulders and new vision.
The 16000 sq.ft. of land donated by Late Dharmabhushan
Raosaheb for the school, was used by the Corporation for
city development and expansion of roads. The present
president tried his best to get it back, the land of
17000 sq.ft. for playground from the council.
He has succeeded in providing the basic infrastructure
to the school & college such as clean, cold and hygienic
water by Aqua guard and water cooler. Not only that but
in the techno-savvy world he provides computer lab with
the facility of internet and gymnasium too. He always
wants to maintain the quality and personally pays
attention for the quality education. The affirmative
repercussion shows the success graph of school
examination results. |

From 2006-2007 he opened a new world to the students
through educational carnival of three days, named ‘Kala-Krida-Vidnyan-Vedha’.
The most innovative idea of the president is to enjoy
and welcome the New Year, a program of 300 students is
arranged called ‘Swararang’, ‘Pausgaani’ a program which
gives the heavenly joy of rainy season.‘ Kojagiri’,a
celebration for the encouragement of inner aptitude of
the teachers.
On the day of death anniversary (Chintan Din) of Late
Raosaheb (founder president), a series of lectures has
been continued and extended by the present president. To
pay our homage to Late Bacchubhai Lathi (Ex-President)
he started an essay competition for the teachers of all
the branches of the society.
In order to develop and raise the quality of education
he opened various avenues to them such as Diwali
vocational workshops of rangoli, music, etc.,
participation in state level drama competition, NTS, MTS
scholarships, NSS & NCC, etc. Above all, he continues
the tradition of felicitation of students by chariot and
medals for their achievements and success in various
examinations.
He has tried to follow the thoughts and ideology of
Lokmanya Tilak by making Ganpati festival as public
festival and a big event for the awakening and
enlightenment of the society. During this in a grand
procession the students perform Lezim, Flag Dance and
different types of dances. These series of ideas insist
great social events and incidents. One of the
unforgettable incidents is the tribute to the martyrs of
26/11 in terrorist attack. Through this tributary
programme of ‘Shahid Smruti’ tries to make aware the
religious, educational, political, social organizations
and institution against the terrorism, every year. The
society progresses towards its hundred years & hence the
‘Foundation Day’ of it is going to be celebrated with
great zest and enthusiasm.
Having a broad vision and point of view the president
has set up an Arts, Commerce and Science Junior and
Senior College in the school premises. In 2011 the
society has build up four-storied building with modern
infrastructure and adequate equipments. This is an
extension of the dream of Raosaheb and new meaning, new
space of it too. Moreover, honorable president have
donate qualitative reference books of worth rupees 60
thousand to the school & college library on pious
occasion of his 60th birthday.
While having the huge responsibilities of the school &
college management, the president took initiative in the
foundation of ‘Jalgaon Zillah Shaikshanik Sansthachalak
Sanghatana’, in order to face & solve different problems
of educational societies and institutions. This
registered organization attempts whole-heartedly to
solve delayed problems of them and takes follow-ups from
the Government and Department (ministry) of Education.
The ultimate positive result of all this constructive,
innovative and reformative work is the awards and
felicitations. Dainik Deshdoot (Marathi) newspaper
awarded as the ‘Best Director in the District’ with the
pious hands of the honorable speaker of the legislative
assembly of the Maharashtra State, Mr. Maduarrao
Chaudhari.
Secondly, in the presence of honorable Chief Minister of
Maharashtra State Mr. Prithawiraji Chauvan and other
respected ministers he was awarded for “Adarash and
Upakramshil Shikshan Sanstha” at Nasik. These awards
added one more feather in the crown of East Khandesh
Education Society.
The dream of K.G.to P.G. has been now becoming true. He
has paved the ways for the better human being. The new
dreams would be founded, established and fulfilled in
this new land _land of progress and land of success.
